It is very hard to live the experience of children growing up in the townships. For a country as rich as ours, one would have expected most children to have the same privileges regardless of where they live or which family they belong to. That is not the case in South Africa. In Orange Farm, one of the country's largest townships, it would not be an exaggeration to claim that every child is exposed to some form of social ills. Every child in this township is affected somehow.
We, the founders of The Clarion Development Agency, that is Nonhlanhla, Meisie, Tshepang, Mpho, Emmanuel and Brian decided to do something. Often times before you embark on such a project, you question your intentions; you question your connections; you question your resources; so many questions come up your mind with the simple aim of discouraging. We refuse to entertain these thoughts lest we let of this unique opportunity to leave a positive legacy in this world. Just a little act of kindness suffices to get started and the rest will follow.
In fact, we aim to impress on everyone we come in contact with, this little thought of kindness as the simple step needed to create a better place to live for all these children growing up in our townships. Our message is quite simple: A little deed of kindness from everyone makes the world a better place.
